ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture therapy: What is it?

In the complementary medicine practice of acupuncture, tiny needles are inserted into predetermined skin sites.

The technique aims to balance the flow of energy, or Qi, throughout the body, and these sites are believed to be located along energy pathways called meridians.

Origin:

A more than 2,000-year-old Chinese medical procedure.
It is used to treat a variety of mental and physical ailments, reduce pain, and improve overall health.
Method:

At specific points in the skin, thin, sterile needles are implanted.  Needles are occasionally twisted or wired to low-voltage currents.
Philosophy:

Predicated on the free passage of qi through meridians and the harmony of yin and yang

What is the Process of Dry Needling?

Dry needling aims to alleviate muscle tension by stimulating nerves and muscles, thereby enhancing blood flow.

The objective is to encourage the healing process and to support your overall health and wellness.

Fine needles are inserted into specific muscles, commonly referred to as myofascial trigger points, to achieve this.

They are only put to a depth of between five and ten millimeters into your muscle tissue.

After that, the needles are gently withdrawn from the skin, and the majority of the sessions last between 15 and 30 minutes.

After that, they are disposed of in a way that ensures that the patient's cleanliness is never compromised.

DRY NEEDLING

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dry Needling Painful?

When the needles are inserted, many people do not perceive them.

On the other hand, a slight pinching sensation may be experienced by specific individuals.

How does Dry Needling vary from Acupuncture?

Although both methods utilise needles, their objectives differ. The practice of acupuncture is an ancient Chinese art that involves redirecting the flow of energy that occurs within the body. Dry needling, on the other hand, is a contemporary technique that focuses on the interactions between oxygen, blood flow, and muscles within the body.

How many sessions will I need?

The nature and severity of your ailment will determine the number of sessions you require. While many individuals report seeing improvements after just a single session, the amount of time it takes for others to see results can vary.
