WHAT IS CERVICAL FACET SYNDROME?
Facet joints, also known as Z-joints, are the joints that are found behind vertebrae that are next to each other. They are responsible for providing extended stability to the spinal column while still permitting movement. Neck pain and discomfort are symptoms of cervical facet syndrome, which develops when these joints become inflamed or injured.
WHAT SYMPTOMS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH CERVICAL FACET SYNDROME?
You Typically Encounter:

Pain and a dull discomfort in the neck that could be intense during instances of acute flare-ups

Headaches

Reduced range of motion in the neck

Pain in the neck and muscle spasm/torticollis (wry neck)

Occasional neck pain can also be felt in the head, the upper back, or the shoulders.
